IGI Prudential Insurance Ltd.

IME General Insurance Ltd. was a Nepali non-life insurer that began operating in February 2001. On 10 May 2023 it merged with Prudential Insurance Company Ltd. (operating since 2002), and the combined company now trades as IGI Prudential Insurance Ltd. Its paid-up capital of about NPR 3.03 billion is, by the company’s own account, the highest among Nepal’s general insurers. It offers a broad range of non-life insurance, including group medical and hospitalisation cover with cashless treatment at partner hospitals. Its promoters are industrialists and business houses from banking, trading, energy, automobiles, tourism and hydropower.
